Course: Geometry is a much more word-oriented course than Algebra. An understanding of the terminology and notation is crucial for success in the course. Topics will include study of lines, planes, circles, polygons, triangles, the coordinate plane, quadrilaterals, transformations, geometric proof, and right triangle trigonometry, as well as a review of area and volume. There will be a strong emphasis on the process of formal geometric proofs. There will also be some algebra review included in the course. It is important to keep up with the material as the year goes on!
