Google Classroom:
We will be sharing information through Google classroom. You will find a calendar, link to the textbook, announcements, resources, and much more information there.
Be sure to sign in promptly and check daily.
Homework:
Homework will be assigned every class. Some homework assignments, or parts of assignments, will be collected. Some may be submitted through other sites (Quizizz, Khan academy, etc.). To receive full credit for homework, work must be shown and all problems must be attempted. All odd answers should be checked in the back of the book. Late assignments will receive no credit unless special circumstances apply; you must check with me.
Grading:
Grades will be based on student performance, including class participation, homework, projects, quizzes and tests. Tests will always be announced; larger quizzes will be announced. Some smaller quizzes may not be announced. There will be at least one project each term.
Approximate breakdown (will be adjusted as necessary as course develops):
Participation- 10-15%
Homework- 10-15%
Projects- 10%
Quizzes- 35%
Tests- 25%
Classroom expectations: (online, in class)
Students should be respectful of others at all times. Everyone has valuable ideas.
Cell phones may not be used in class (remote or in person), unless expressly directed by the teacher.
Online behavior:
- Be on time
- Camera should be on, full name displayed
- Mute audio unless asking a question
- Use raise hand option to ask questions
- Chat box may be used for questions/responses at some times
- At all times! Be kind, polite, and help each other out.
Do not be afraid to ask questions! Everyone will benefit.
Do not talk or interrupt while anyone else is speaking.
All academic work should be your own.
Any online quizzes or tests should be completed without using notes, textbook, cellphones, or communication with anyone else unless permission is expressly given. At no time should you copy another student’s work. All students involved in such behavior will receive a zero for the assignment.
